Furla Metropolis is back for Pre-Fall 2020 and we’re here for it
The iconic Furla Metropolis is back this season—this time with a traffic-stopping colour palette and brand new silhouettes.
Furla Metropolis doesn’t need a lengthy introduction. Talk about iconic silhouettes from the Italian leather and accessories house and the Metropolis comes to mind—from its rectangular shape with rounded corners to its signature briefcase-style closure, the bag is a classic for good reason. Versatile yet undeniably feminine, Furla Metropolis’s inception was only six years ago—inspired by an archival model from the noughties—yet it has undergone a plethora of memorable reiterations.
We’re talking more than 40 different materials and 300 intricate details (embroidery, motifs, designs and more). There was the Little Twin Stars collection (an ‘80s kid’s dream come true, Furla Metropolis My Play range which boasted interchangeable flaps (one for every day in the week? Yes, please!) and who could forget Furla’s previous collaboration with Sanrio featuring the world’s most recognisable cat, Hello Kitty?
For Pre-Fall 2020, Furla dabbled with the trendiest bag silhouettes this season to create entirely new shapes. Firstly, a round variation in the form of the Metropolis Mini Crossbody Round, and the Metropolis Top Handle Round that has the same shape as the former, but with a top handle (ideal for transitioning from work to the weekends). Fans of nano-sized neck/crossbody bags can check out the Metropolis Mini Vertical Crossbody, a rectangular, mobile-sized must-have that comes in a gold chain strap—perfect for your bare necessities. However, if you’re a fan of the classic rounded-rectangular shape of Furla Metropolis, consider adding the snazzy new colourways to your bag stash—more on that below.
The most dominant feature of the Furla Metropolis this Pre-Fall season is the colour palette. A stark contrast from the previous seasons’ dreamy pastel hues, this collection is all about making a statement. We’re talking bold, primary colours of electric blue, brilliant red, vivid yellow; along with fiery orange, and classic black and white for good measure. The signature ABS closure is now tone-on-tone, upping the chromatic game to a whole new level while exuding a mod vibe altogether.
